Writing’s for Thursdays

Thursday nights are for writing, or let’s say for writers, word lovers, word shapers, transformers and players at The Workshop.

Aiming to invite different genres and writing styles into the space, the Thursday night workshops are taught by different people on a rotational basis.

Starting January 31st from 19.30-21.30, Eliza Levinson will lead a bi-monthly critique and freewriting group for writers of all levels of experience. Sessions will consider poetry, flash fiction, non-fiction, lyric essay and genre-bending works. Writers of all disciplines — including those working in music and visual arts — are encouraged to bring their work for feedback as well. Our sessions are intended to offer respite from writer’s block, allow feedback from peers, and to spark (or re-spark) inspiration to explore new forms of expression using the written word as the foundation for exploration and subversion.

Eliza is a visual artist, teacher, and writer from the US based in Berlin. She has written for publications including ArtReview and Take Shape, with upcoming works in AfterAll and 02. Her visual work has been featured at Straße 55, Neue Nachbarschaft, h0l0, Hive Mind, and the Echo Park Film Center.
